STEVEN M. POWELL
A Call to Action
TOGETHER, WE CAN SAVE A MAN'S LIFE
We are here to tell Steven's TRUTH so we can save him from being wrongfully accused of crimes he did not commit.
Steven Powell is an intelligent, well-spoken, kindhearted man who was navigating the ebb and flow of starting and running his own catering business and like many offs, wants to live a life of peace and acceptance. He is a man who has faced many challenges in life and while he will be the first to admit he makes mistakes from time to time- he is a man that is deserving of love and justice.
February 15, 2020 is a day that will forever be known as the day Steven's life changed forever. The day began just like any other. Steven woke up. Checked his phone. Get dressed. Yet what he did not know, was that a series of instant decisions and behaviors would have him face the unspeakable darkness we see all too often on the news and in our daily lives. The darkness we are discussing here is gun violence.
Steven was at the wrong place at the wrong time and with the wrong people the day his life came unrivaled. Steven got into a car with someone he only knew superficially. An acquaintance at best. Little did he know, this car ride would change the trajectory of his life as we know it currently. It is important to note that Steven was a passenger on this journey through his own personal hell and the driver, for reasons still unknown, was holding the power of life & death in his hands.
Steven and the driver, whom we will call Tray*, went to a man's house by the name of Keithan. While Tray* and Keithan were in the other room, Steven began to hear what sounded like an argument escalating quickly. Steven, while not in the same room, knew whatever was being discussed was making both men very angry. Then, the sound that will always haunt Steven the rest of his life happened. The sound of a gunshot.
There are many victims in this story. The primary victims are the victim himself who sadly did not survive his wounds and the victim's family. The secondary victims are Steven M. Powell who is being held in a cell at the Fulton County Jail facing atrocities he did not commit. We are fully committed to his innocence and know Steven has never, would never, resort to this type of violence. We are worried for his safety inside the Fulton County Jail and the rising cases of COVID19 in Georgia.
PLEASE HELP US SAVE ANOTHER MAN FROM GOING TO PRISON AND BECOMING ANOTHER STATISTIC OF THE PRISON SYSTEM.
